HelloI was wondering how long you have been innvtsieg, and how much money you have invested to get to that level? (if you don’t mind)For the longest time I didn’t trust the stock market. I considered it no more than gambling… I finally educated myself and I am now pumping as much as I can into a dividend strategy. My only complaint is the upcoming change in dividend tax rates. I had just decided to move away from RRSP to an investment account to take advantage of my wifes low income and the dividend tax credit. Thanks

Hey Matthew,
Thanks for the compliment. Just added to BNS today as well. Going hard this year to build that passive income stream!

Hi DB,
I stumbled upon your site from Reddit. Very cool that you’re openly talking about your strategy, portfolio and thought processes. I wish more people did it.
I noticed you don’t have ETFs in your portfolio or mention ETFs. Is it because they’re not on your radar yet or because you haven’t found any that meet the 5 rules?
AJ
Hey AJ,
Thank you for the kind words. I was inspired by other dividend growth investing bloggers to start my own and be transparent in the process. It’s definitely helped me in a large way to become a better investor.
I’m not a huge fan of ETFs due to both the management fees and the fact that I have yet to find a dividend growing ETF with consecutive dividend raises; they tend to be all over the place. I will most likely be utilizing them down the road for international diversification.
Thanks for visiting and commenting,
DB
What is your position on Valeant after its demise now? I see you picked up during the highs and at 50$?
